Dane County Youth Assessment

These pages are a resource to the Dane County Youth Asssement (DCYA), a youth risk behavior survey conducted every 5 years since 1980 in Dane County, Wisconsin.  The DCYA has queried youth in grades 7-12 about their opinions, concerns, attitudes, behaviors, and experiences via a collaboration of school disticts, Dane County government, and community agencies. The purpose of the survey is to provide area educators, service providers, parents, policy-makers, and funding bodies with accurate, current data to inform grant writing and the development of youth programs, services, and public policies.

The most recent DCYA was conducted in 2009, four years after the last assessment.  This starts a new pattern of providing more current data, ultimately assessing every three years.

The purpose of this site is to provide easier access to current and historical data as well as sharing best practices between districts.
