K12 Associates provides a variety of workshops that will help your school district improve its climate for learning. We emphasize skills and practices that prevent student antisocial behavior.
Expectations
All our training and workshops emphasize four expectations we feel are critical to the prevention of antisocial behaviors - like bullying.
- School should be a place where all students feel safe
- Antisocial behavior shouldn't interfere with learning
- All students should have access to school resources
- Life at school should help develop healthy social skills
Strategies
Every workshop covers one or more of three key, integrated strategies to prevent negative behaviors, and encourage positive behaviors.
- Improve school environments where antisocial behavior occurs
- Build relationships with all students
- Teach and model healthy problem solving language
Specific Workshops
Each workshop covers a particular topic that can be presented to both professional and paraprofessional adults in your school. Workshop topics include:
- Prevention Planning for Administrators (1/2 day)
- Preventing Antisocial Behaviors (All staff - 1 day)
- New Strategies for Para's and Aides (1 day)
- Cooperation on the Bus (1/2 to 1 day)
- Risk Management - A Legal Perspective on Harassment (1/2 day)
